PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES
The objectives of the programme are to:
(a) train undergraduates broadly in the field of transportation as a basic infrastructure for technological and economic development;
(b) emphasize the application of science and technology to the engineering and materials development of the transport sector;
(c) apply the principles and theory of management and allied disciplines like accounting, production, marketing, human resources and operations management for optimum economic efficiency in the transport sector;
(d) train undergraduates in the technological development of transport;
(e) educate undergraduates on the role of the government, national, international and non-government organizations in planning, management and control of transport;
(f) enable students gain knowledge of transport infrastructural planning, air transport management and road freight transport management; and water transport management; and
(g) provide a strong academic base for post-graduate study in transport management.
