The Department of Transport management has as it philosophy the training of required manpower to manage the abundant productive resources of the nation particularly in the transport, construction, business and other infrastructural sectors of the economy. The programme bridges the gap between engineering technology and management particularly in graduates with technical and management expertise in transport. The Transport Management and Technology programme is a coupling of Transport Management and Engineering Technology. Management Technology provides the bridge between Management and conventional Engineering Technology. Therefore, the aim of Transport Management is to train Technical Managers who have competence in the area of Transport and Technology. The programme, based upon a foundation of mathematics, economics, computer application, basic sciences and engineering prepares its graduates to allocate and manage resources efficiently within the transport sector, which includes roads, rail, water, and air and pipeline transport system.
